Only Easy: Banana Lumpia

So what? Were you right? Did you guess I’d make banana lumpia (turon) to use up my leftover lumpia wrappers from kalua pork lumpia? All of the kids in our family love this dessert, I hope you try it soon!
Menlo brand lumpia wrappers
Apple bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise into 2-3 pieces
Brown sugar and cinnamon (to taste, optional)
Egg wash (for sealing lumpia)
Oil (for frying)
- Using one lumpia wrapper at a time, add a slice of banana (lengthwise) and top with brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
- Roll the banana like a lumpia/egg roll following the illustrations on the back of the Menlo lumpia wrapper package.
- Heat oil to 350-375 degrees and fry until golden. Do not overcrowd.
- Drain on paper towel. You may top with more sugar or caramel sauce but it will make it soggy, so I keep it plain.
