Massages and microneedling and facials oh my!

There is a beautiful new spa in Hilo called The Beauty Health Spa tucked inside the unassuming building at 811 Laukapu Street. Cool grays, a calming fountain, and clean architectural lines set a soothing tone as you cross its threshold. Behind each of the three bays sheltered by sliding “barn doors” is an esthetician or massage therapist ready to put you at ease and help you shine inside and out: Everyday Bliss, Spa Boyz, and The Beauty Spot. This welcoming spa is an expansion of the popular More Good Hair Days salon where you can create a full day spa experience by getting a cut and color, in addition to waxing and pedicures by Karen’s Salon Kreations. Owner Matteo Belli, formerly of Macy’s Premier Salon, has been working toward this dream for many, many years. He’s been my stylist for about 18 years and it was such a delight to see him make his dream a reality. 

I went to the spa’s grand opening on Sunday, May 28, and saw him surrounded by friends, clients, and former coworkers – including from back in his Liberty House days! – all beaming with pride at his success. We enjoyed delicious food, creatively displayed by Millie’s, and a refreshing and celebratory glass of champagne and desserts. Several of us won some amazing door prizes – including me! It was definitely my lucky day as I LOVE Paul Mitchell products but am always too cheap to treat myself. Thank you, Matteo! Please check out this new spa in town!
