My high-school aged son is a runner.  He enjoys participating in cross-country and track running events with his high school and with Sunrise Athletics, a local track and running club here in Hilo.  This running club supports our local youth runners by training them to compete in running events. Most events are on the Big Island, but the coaches also take athletes to Oahu and to the mainland to compete against a wider pool of runners.  You can read more at the Sunrise Athletics blog.

In order to fund these trips off the Big Island, Sunrise Athletics helps the athletes by organizing fundraisers. One such fundraiser will be held this Sunday, April 3, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at Kai Store (near KTA Puainako).

Please support my son and other local athletes by bringing your vehicle to the car wash. This will help the athletes defray travel costs to running events on Oahu and in California. We have some great runners here in Hilo! Mahalo for your support.
