I got to hang out with friends at a wine-pairing event one evening. Kadota Liquor partnered with Young’s Market to bring Master Sommelier Patrick Okubo to Hilo.
Patrick paired fine wines with a few of his favorite dishes and other assorted pupu.Patrick Okubo is a Master Sommelier and Certified Wine Educator who currently works for Young’s Market Company Hawaii in the fine wine division. He is the first Master Sommelier in Young’s Market Company’s 125-year history. At the time he earned the prestigious title, he was the youngest Master Sommelier in the nation.

We also enjoyed seared beef tenderloin served with a roasted potato, onion, and carrot medley, grilled venison, smoked meat, smoked salmon, and sushi.
