In addition to the beautiful music, the ticket included three mini cupcakes from Cupcake Boom and coffee. Thank you to Mrs. Yokoe, Hilo High band director, for all the hard work you have invested in our children!
After the concert, our family went to dinner at Jimmy’s a local restaurant.
Our family always likes to go and check out the mini Korean grocery store they have there. I didn’t realize that there was such a thing as kimchi sauce. It is basically a Korean fish sauce. I am planning to get it the next time I make kimchi–I usually use patis, but now that I know there is a Korean fish sauce for kimchi, I’d like to see how the recipe comes out.
I ordered the Korean combination dinner with mandoo, kalbi, and bbq chicken–ozen style with a side order of kimchi. It is just right for dinner and for my lunch the next day. Living Hilo Style.
