I look forward to my friend’s holiday party every year.
There are goodie bags and prizes, we play games and we chat.
And of course, I encouraged some photo taking.
In true Hilo Style, everyone who comes to this party contributes things to the awesome array of food.
My contribution this year was a Hawaiian Seafood Salad. I love my local cookbooks and found this yummy-sounding salad in the Maui Association for Family and Community Education cookbook that would be perfect for this party. To make this recipe, I have to chop and mix–just my level of cooking.
I chopped up a bell pepper, Maui onion, imitation crab, cucumber (given to me by a friend), fishcake tempura, and green onions (picked from my backyard). Toss these items with lettuce and place in a serving dish.
Mix poke and ocean vegetable salad and layer over the lettuce mixture.Finished product, ready to serve. Simple and easy. Living Hilo Style.
Wow. Supa dupa easy! Thanks for sharing!!
