Garden to Table: Bittermelon with Black Bean Garlic Sauce

We are in a bittermelon phase these days. One dish my husband loves is Chinese-style bittermelon stir-fried with beef in a black bean garlic sauce.

It is such a quick and easy dish to make since I use the Lee Kum Kee prepared and totally delicious black bean sauce. img_5604

Ingredients

~4-5 bittermelon (you can use as little or as much bittermelon as you like based on the bittermelon/beef ratio that you prefer)–Cut in half lengthwise, scoop out seeds and white pith, then cut into 1/8″ slices.  Be sure to save the seeds for planting!)
~1/2 pound of beef cut into bite-sized pieces (you can use teri-sliced beef, steak, whatever you prefer)
~3 (or more) tablespoons of Lee Kum Kee Black Bean Garlic Sauce

Steps

Saute the beef and bittermelon in a pan with oil for a few minutes until the beef is almost done.
Add the black bean sauce until heated through.
