Local-Style Pupus

I recently attended a welcome reception catered by the Hawaii Community College Culinary program. The people being welcomed were from Florida, Massachusetts, and Oregon so the program wanted to feature some of the best that the Island of Hawaii has to offer.

The program featured pupu-style laulau, poke bombs, warabi salad, smoked marlin salad, Ahualoa smoked meat, lumpia, sweet potato haupia pie, cowboy cookies, and malasadas! What a great combination of the flavors that make up our community! Totally Living Hilo Style.
