The Super Stars 4-H club participated in the 2016 Holiday Potpourri again this year.  (Here is a link to last year’s Holiday Potpourri post.)  The Hilo Hongwanji Board of Buddhist Education presents this annual event in Hilo for children called at Sangha Hall.  It is free to the public, but the organization requests that people bring non-perishable items to be donated to the Hawaii Food Basket.

At this event, the Super Stars 4-H club collected travel-sized toiletries and created beauty bags to be donated to a women’s shelter in the community. This is a regular service project this club does.

Thanks to the creativity of Kailey and her mom, children could come to our table and play a fun Halloween-themed game. The Shooting Stars 4-H club had a lantern-decorating station that was very popular.  What a simple and great idea!

The dress-up area/photo station was a huge hit with the Super Stars 4-H club!  Happy Halloween!  Living Hilo Style.
