Hilo Pals in Korea. Day 2

We woke up early at about 4 a.m. on this day since we had gone to sleep around midnight.  Plus we were still on Hawaii time since it was only our second morning in Seoul. Since we woke up early, we decided to have an awesome international buffet breakfast at the Lotte Hotel Seoul.

We devoured energy shots, dim sum, abalone porridge, kimchi, natto, pho, and pastries. We were raring for our day. We pre-booked a purifying spa treatment for our second day thinking that we might be ready for a refreshing and rejuvenating activity. We walked to the Four Seasons Hotel Spa for our treatment and visited a pretty river/stream on the way. It was the perfect way to get warm and loose for our spa-mazing two-and-a-half hours of bliss and relaxation. After the spa treatment, we enjoyed a lunch snack of Korean fried chicken and a lobster sandwich.

That night we booked a private Seoul night-market tour. Our first stop was to visit a Kwangjang, a traditional Korean food market.

We bought Korean nori, flavored almonds, and candy and then visited some vendors to enjoy mandoo and kimbap.

Our next stop was Dongdaemun, a shopping district known for Korean fashion where we found the Olympic mascots who had time to take a photo with us. img_0758We ended the evening by enjoying a pork belly bbq dinner.

img_2175We got back to the hotel around 11 p.m. and began pre-packing our luggage since we were already leaving Korea the next evening and had a full day of activities planned.  We had to wake up at 4:45 a.m. to head to the Olympics in PyeongChang!  So excited!

Here is a photo of us in front of Starbucks–written in Korean.
