One Friday, my husband and I were thinking of going to see the movie Dead Don’t Die at the Palace Theater but since the movie start time didn’t work with our schedule, we changed our mind and decided to get some takeout, enjoy a bottle of wine, and watch a movie on Netflix at home. Our first choice for takeout was of course, Moon and Turtle. However, when I checked with the restaurant, they were super busy and couldn’t do a takeout order at that time. Shucks! Not to worry, Hilo has other choices. I decided to get Thai food.

My husband and daughter love Hilo Siam so while my daughter was at soccer practice and my husband was getting a haircut, I stopped at the restaurant to put in my order. (My son was with bowling with friends at KMC.) This is what my family orders from Hilo Siam.
Sticky Rice
Green Curry with Chicken
Papaya Salad
Royal Siam Crispy Chicken Drummettes
Eggplant with Pork
Thai Garlic Shrimp.
If my son is eating with us, we also get chicken satay.

I put in the order, walked to KTA bought some groceries, including ice cream bars, and went back to the restaurant to pick up my food. It paired nicely with my LOLA wine purchase from my pal Ryan Kadota. It was a great Friday evening at home. No cooking! Oh–in case you’re interested, we ended up watching Drug King on Netflix. Hmmm, it was interesting and I learned a lot of things I didn’t know but I wouldn’t consider it one of my favorites.
I only wish that Hilo Siam had Mango Sticky Rice for dessert! Living Hilo Style.
