My daughter had a soccer game at HPA in Waimea so my husband and I made a day of it by going a little early so we could stop at the Parker School Farmer’s Market where I got to try the Italian bowl and a Toastie sandwich from Cheese, Please. I especially loved the Toastie grilled cheese sandwich with mushrooms. The bread was crispy, the cheese was gooey. It was perfect. If you’re in Hilo, you can find Cheese, Please on Mondays at Kukuau Studio.
After our morning snack, we headed to HPA and had some fun watching the Hilo High Vikings play some soccer this beautiful day in Waimea.

After the game, we stopped at KTA Waimea and were thrilled to still find mangos for sale. We then headed to the deli counter called Aloha Bol where we got some Filipino food for lunch. Everyday, you’ll find different specials so check it out.
We also stopped at Kamuela Liquor where we planned to get a bottle of wine for dinner and found that they were having a Saturday wine tasting.
Since our daughter had a team sleepover and wouldn’t be home to eat with us, it was just my husband and I for dinner. We called Moon & Turtle to see if they could either take a reservation for 2 or to do a takeout for us but they were completely booked and too busy to do a takeout. We decided to get takeout from Cafe Pesto. I went to the Cafe Pesto website to peruse the menu so I could decide what to order and found that they had an online ordering system. It was so convenient! I ordered and paid via the online system and all we had to do was drive there to pick it up.

It was so convenient! We shared a Caesar salad, salmon pizzette, and a shrimp Alfredo linguine. Living Hilo Style.
