After having breakfast with a friend at WSW the other week, I was reminded of the beauty of our town. I really need to appreciate and enjoy what we are blessed with. So, when a couple of colleagues and I decided to get together for pau hana happy hour one afternoon, we decided to go to Waoli Lounge. Their happy hour menu is not all that extensive but you can order off the regular lounge menu. Plus — be sure to get your order in before 5:30. If you are even 2 minutes late (as we tried) with trying to order a happy hour drink, you won’t get your happy hour deal.

But we did enjoy the view, the Kona kampachi poke that had tobiko, ogo, shoyu, green onion, sea salt and the loaded baked fries topped with cheddar cheese, bacon bits, green onions, and sour cream. I wanted to try the ulu hummus but they were sold out that day. Most of all, as always, we enjoyed each other’s company. Living Hilo Style.
