I got my annual mammogram this morning at the Women’s Imaging Center. A few close friends of mine recently were diagnosed with breast cancer. Please get your mammogram screening if you qualify for it. My experience today was quick and efficient. I scheduled my mammogram for 7:30 a.m. so that it doesn’t affect my work and daily schedule very much. I checked in at 7:15 a.m. as instructed and was quickly called back to get my 3D mammogram. I was dressed and out of the office by 7:19 a.m.! Perfect timing to stop at Pete’s Belly Bustaz and bring home some breakfast for my husband.

At 11:15 a.m. that day, I got my results via the Big Island Healthcare Patient Portal. I am grateful today to have no need for a follow up appointment other than my routine mammogram in a year.
