Specialty Cocktails and Breast Cancer Awareness

The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce hosted a fun virtual event for its members recently. The participants of this event heard from my friend, Kealohanui Browning and her story of being a breast cancer survivor. She spoke from her heart about her experiences from having symptoms, being diagnosed, going through treatment, and life afterwards. If you are 40 or older, please talk to your doctor about whether you should be scheduling your mammogram. There are lots of resources out there for you. https://www.cancer.org/about-us/local/hawaii.html

Another part of this event was a quick mixology workshop featuring Sarah, The Temple Bar mixologist. We made (and drank) a Wahine Cosmo and a Killah Dragon Mimosa. We got a mixology kit that came with all the ingredients needed for the cocktails and even the garnish. While we enjoyed the drinks in our pink attire, we had some fun with the other participants and played some games. These games are always way more motivating with prizes involved. Ryan and I took things seriously and earned a prize! Mahalo to the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, the Temple Bar, and the American Cancer Society for a fun event. Living Hilo Style.
