Even though I was in Las Vegas last weekend, I headed back there for the second weekend in a row. This was a quick weekend getaway to see George Strait. We met my daughter at HNL and brought dinner with us. She requested Korean chicken plate from Zippy’s and homemade tamagoyaki so I packed it up and away we went. While we were at HNL, we ran into Flavio and IG as well as a few other Hawaii people heading to Vegas. There were so many people heading to Cowboy Christmas and the National Finals Rodeo. After boarding the red-eye on Hawaiian, we found that there was a new menu. We did use miles to upgrade our seats and so we enjoyed some pasta bolognese before settling in and getting a few winks of sleep. The next thing I knew, we were 30 min away from landing in Las Vegas. We checked in and got a quick rest then headed to Trader Joe’s and then to Premium Outlets. After a few hours of shopping, we dropped our shopping bags off at the hotel and then met Flavio and IG at Izakaya Go near our hotel. We enjoyed so many dishes but didn’t have enough time together so Flavio suggested the Golden Tiki nearby and we had a blast with a nightcap called a Fishbowl that served all of us! OMG.

I enjoyed a relaxing hydrating facial on Saturday morning at the hotel while my husband and daughter went shopping at Fashion Show Mall. They decided to have a no-line/no-wait lunch to try ChikFilA and offered to pick me up. But I preferred to eat at Ondori at the hotel for some dumplings, beef bittermelon, and salt and pepper prawns. After letting my food digest for a bit, I got a workout in at the hotel gym and hoped to sweat out some toxins in the steam room. Finally, we headed to the T-Mobile Arena for the reason for this weekend’s getaway. George Strait! The merchandise line was so long but Aaron stood in it for me and Sammie while we explored the arena and took some photos. I loved the outside patio overlooking the entrance. This concert was so great! I love music–all kinds of music. But I didn’t realize how much I loved George Strait’s music. I loved, loved, loved the concert–even if my favorite song wasn’t played!!!!
After the concert, we met up with Marla and Naone at Mama Rabbit at the Park MGM before heading back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep before checking out and leaving for the airport. It was a great 48 hours in Las Vegas! Living Hilo Style in Las Vegas.
