My pal Marla was in town again recently.
We always do our best to see if we can schedule a date for having Marla and her family over to my house whenever they visit Hilo from San Diego. The last time Marla was in town, we were able to go on a hiking adventure in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This time, we weren’t able to schedule an adventure since it is the holidays and everyone is so busy. We are just glad to be able to find a date to get together. Our menu–kalua pork nacho salad, Pizza Hut pizza, slow-cooked ribs, Korean chicken.
Another easy recipe for me. Mountain Apple kalua pork from KTA Super Stores. Make your own nacho bar. Kalua, chips, salsa, cheese, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, lomi salmon, sour cream, sriracha aioli.
Since my daughter also had a Pizza Hut night fundraiser that night, I ordered a few pizzas to supplement the menu.
We had some tapenade, cheese, and crackers to round out the food that went so nicely with the wine, sake, and beer.Cute Christmas gingerbread cookies from Panya were a perfect holiday sweet treat for us.
We enjoyed piano music by some of the guests. What a nice evening with great friends! Living Hilo Style!
