Hilo, Hawaii – Malamapono Events Management, LLC, presents the 30th Annual Hilo Christmas Extravaganza Craft Fair on November 17-18, 2017 at the Edith Kanaka’ole Tennis Stadium. The Extravaganza features 100 of the best artisans and crafters from throughout the State of Hawaii and California.

Fair hours are Friday night, November 17: 5-9 PM and Saturday, November 18: 9 AM – 3 PM. There is a $2 admission charge for adults; children 12 years and under are free and the last hour before closing each day will be free for last minute purchases and pick-ups.
Owner Kim Sasaki says, “It’s our 30th anniversary and we’ve got a sold-out show this year with over 100 vendors!” What started out as a vision by the former owner, Evelyn Garbo, has grown into the biggest Christmas craft fair on the Big Island and Sasaki, who took over the show three years ago, upon Garbo’s retirement, couldn’t be happier! “One of the big draws of our show and what makes us unique is that all of the products at the Extravaganza must be handmade and are screened for quality and uniqueness. And the talent of these crafters is just outstanding! You won’t be disappointed! All of our favorite vendors will be back, as well as, 20 new vendors!”
Sasaki, a Hilo native, is also a fellow artist and jewelry designer and believes the importance of providing other local artists and crafters a venue to showcase and sell their artwork. Sasaki recognizes the economic challenges of living in a small town and emphasizes the need to support local small businesses. Sasaki says, “When we support local businesses we are really supporting our whole community.”
She invites everyone to come and meet the local artists and crafters, enjoy the ono food and get your Christmas shopping done early! For more information, follow us on Facebook or Instagram @malamapono_events or visit our website at www.malamaponoevents.com.
