Applications are now open for PISCES’ 2018 Women’s STARS (STEM Aerospace Research Scholars) Program! Students may apply online at http://www.pacificspacecenter.com/2018-stars-program/.
STARS is a week-long summer STEM experience for Hawaii high school girls, ages 16 and up. Twelve students will be selected to participate based on interest and merit. All meals, transportation and overnight accommodations will be provided. The program is free to attend and will be held from July 9 to 13.
The 2018 STARS program will include:
- Guest talks with successful female scientists and engineers;
- A mock-Mars rover mission with the Helelani Planetary Rover;
- Tours and activities at Maunakea observatories and a summit excursion;
- Robotics workshop;
- Tours and hikes at the USGS Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory, and more!
