I got together with friends recently to kick off a busy summer with a BBQ. Our kids took the SAT that morning and played soccer games during the day. We had the chance to relax together with a potluck that evening.
We had salmon, hot dogs, teri beef, chicken, taegu tofu salad, ribs, homemade kimchi, steamed sweet potatoes, and an assortment of desserts. The kids played pool and foosball and hung out while we also got to hang out. From this home in Kaumana, we saw the glow of the eruption above the bittermelon vines in the garden.
We discussed summer plans and kids and college and sports. Kids were kids and enjoyed their time together before the rush of summer activities begin–school, sports, travel, and some napping.
