Soccer Potluck Awesomeness

The Hilo High Viking Girls Soccer hosts their neighbor island competitors to a potluck meal during the Hilo Bay Classic tournament.

This year, we hosted neighbor island girls soccer teams from Roosevelt, Waianae, and Kauai High Schools. If we include the Hilo High players and families, we are expecting to feed around 150 mouths.

This is what the Hilo High parents shared at the potluck.

  • Pasta Bake
  • Adobo
  • Chili
  • Ham carving station!!!
  • Shoyu Chicken
  • Pastele Stew
  • Portuguese Bean Soup
  • Orange Chicken
  • Fried Chicken
  • Kalua Cabbage
  • Fried Noodles
  • Maki & Cone Sushi
  • Greek Pasta Spinach Salad
  • Warabi Salad
  • Somen Salad
  • Pizza
  • Butter Mochi
  • Dump Cake
  • Brownies
  • Macadamia Brownies
  • And so much more!

There was so much generosity and love shown with the homemade dishes that EVERYONE got to take home leftovers. When my daughter and her soccer friends came for dinner the next evening, they had a feast of somen salad, pork adobo, chili, Portuguese bean soup, and blueberry cream cheese dessert! Living Hilo Style.
