It’s been a very busy year for Jamba Hawaii! 2021 started out with the addition of Bursting Boba to the permanent menu; followed by the addition of Tapioca Boba and a rotation of special edition, limited time smoothies featuring lychee, watermelon, and pumpkin; then rounded out by the introduction of cold brew coffee to the menu. To close out Jamba Hawaii’s Year of Innovation, the better-for-you quick-serve restaurant is happy to announce their limited-time Gotta Guava Smoothie and Loaded Hawaiian Acai Bowl, featuring the sweet, yet tart, flavor of tropical guava fruit.

The Gotta Guava Smoothie and Loaded Hawaiian Acai Bowl are only available at Jamba Hawaii location! This item will not be sold at other U.S. stores. The two holiday items will be featured now through December 31, 2021. 

The sweet, tropical fruit is pretty much guaranteed to have a place at any holiday celebration table in the form of cakes, jams, glazes, dessert bars, and more. Now, those classic holiday flavors are being poured right into your cup, fueling your day with a sweet vibrance you won’t find on the mainland.

Guava is such a delicious flavor and fun fruit: 

• Guava arrived in Hawaii in the early 1800s.
• Guava comes in more than 50 different varieties that come in all shapes and sizes. Varieties include Common Yellow, Beaumont, Pineapple, White, and Ruby Guava. 
• In 1978, Ka Hua Kula (the golden egg), was released for commercial guava puree. This variety was selected from 1,200 seedlings of the Beaumont variety, part of a breeding program at UH Manoa’s Waiakea Research Station in Hilo.
• Adults who grew up in Hawaii have very warm memories of guava growing abundantly during their childhoods. A mixture of shoyu, sugar, vinegar, and black pepper were often carried around during trips around the neighborhood to season fresh guava found while out and about. What wasn’t eaten often became ammunition in childhood guava fights.
