Junior Achievement Recognition Dinner

Took a trip to Oahu to celebrate a good friend getting recognized by the Junior Achievement Association. I flew up after work one day with a slight delay by Hawaiian Airlines. I suppose due to Merrie Monarch, Hawaiian used their Airbus. This meant that I could use WiFi for the first time on my interisland flight! How fun. Despite a one-hour delay, I still made it to Oahu in time to enjoy a sushi dinner at Katsumidori at the Prince Waikiki with my brother and nephew. My heart was happy.

The next morning, I was able to get in a core workout to start the day. I haven’t done a group workout class in a while and was reminded how much I enjoy it. Got a whole day of work in the hotel room and lunch was an UberEats delivery from Zippy’s. After work, I headed to the Japanese Cultural Center for the Junior Achievement dinner where one of the honorees was a good friend from Hilo. One of the highlights of the dinner was seeing a high school classmate I hadn’t seen since we were IN high school. We connected and exchanged contact info. I also met someone I follow on social media IRL. All in all, a wonderful evening.

Our group from Hilo ended the evening with some karaoke at Blue Ribbon in Mōʻiliʻili. They had tater tots on the menu! Flew home the next morning and went straight to work. What a wonderful time celebrating a good friend with good friends. Living Hilo Style.
