For the past few days, residents of Hilo and all over the Big Island were treated to another fantastic and scary haunted house presented by KTA Super Stores. Free to the public, this Halloween tradition was just as entertaining and frightening for the sixth time.
For anyone who wanted to contribute to a worthy cause, food donations were accepted for the Food Basket at the entrance. I’m sure several hundreds of pounds were collected over the three day event. Not surprising, Big Island residents are always very generous!
Elaborate props were designed and built by creative associates using recyclable items from their daily operations: Cardboard, paint, paper, etc. It is important that these items be used for years to come in a reusable and recyclable manner.
A haunted house wouldn’t be legit without scaring everyone that passes through. It was apparent that KTA brought their A-game, once again. People in character jumped out with perfect scary timing! Screams, hugs, and clutching of arms were prevalent among the thousands of brave participants, young and not-as-young.
Can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
