My husband is an impulse shopper. That can be dangerous when he goes to Costco. On his last Costco trip, he found a 1.7 pound bag of walnuts. That is a lot of walnuts to snack on since I don’t use walnuts in recipes very much. On the internet, I found a super simple and quick recipe from Natasha’s Kitchen for 5-Minute Candied Walnuts. I had all three of the ingredients handy so I went ahead with making this recipe.
In a skillet, I combined 1 cup of walnuts, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of butter and stirred constantly over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes. Once it looks brown, I poured it into a cake pan lined with parchment paper and made sure to separate the nuts from each other. It will dry into sweet crunchy bits in about 5-7 minutes. Just put into a bowl or plate and dig in! Living Hilo Style.
