My friends and I wanted to enjoy Indian food one night so we planned to get takeout from Kamana Kitchen. In the days approaching our dinner, we saw that Ginger Turmeric Kitchen had posted their Samosa Sunday menu. I reached out to them to order some samosas and in doing so, found that they were open to cooking more than samosas for our dinner party. We ended up ordering veggies samosas, turkey samosas, chicken makhani, aloo gobi, and chicken biryani from them. I Venmo’d my payment and received the pickup details from them.
We also wanted lamb vindaloo so we that and plain and garlic naan from Kamana Kitchen in the Hilo Shopping Center. I attempted to make kachumber salad and a bean masala dish with my Rancho Gordo beans.

The dinner was a huge success! We loved the food from both places. My favorite was the chicken makhani (butter chicken). My husband isn’t very adventurous and had never wanted to try Indian food before but after this evening, he is a convert! He loved the flavors. Follow Ginger Turmeric Kitchen for their updates. Get some Indian food if you haven’t yet. It pairs nicely with Prosecco in case you’re interested. Living Hilo Style.
