Only Easy: Portuguese Sausage Bread at Errol and Kelly’s Super Sunday Party

By Misty I.

Did you watch the big game on Super Sunday? We were invited over to Errol and Kelly’s again this year and we had so much fun as usual!

Errol and Kelly play fun football-themed games and the food…omg…the FOOD is always amazing!

Although I made “only easy” stuff like clam dip and chocolate covered strawberries that day, I want to tell you about something else I made – Portuguese Sausage Bread.

This pūpū is totally in the “only easy” category since it contains just four ingredients.

More importantly, it was approved by Errol and Kelly’s grandchildren, Aubree and Jax!

Portuguese Sausage Bread

Ingredients:

1 Pillsbury Pizza Crust (Classic)
1 Portuguese sausage, diced (Franks Foods, Mild)
2 Cups shredded cheese (any type – Mexican style, cheddar, jack, mozzarella)
2 onions, diced

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large skillet fry the sausage and onion until the sausage is browned and onions are caramelized.
  3. Unroll the pizza dough onto a foil-lined sheet pan.
  4. Roll out the dough to make a 10”x 15” rectangle.
  5. Spread Portuguese sausage and onions on the raw dough.
  6. Spread cheese over Portuguese sausage mixture.
  7. Roll up and pinch edges shut.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes (my oven takes about 27 minutes.)

That’s it, only easy!
